My Quarantine Thoughts
My Quarantine Thoughts
Hello there, my name is Joshua Lasky and I am an experimental portrait and still life Photographer located in Binghamton N.Y. In 2014 I purchased a NIKON D3100 as a Christmas gift for my wife Alisha so we could take better photos of our growing children. Unfortunately, due to the lack of finding extra time with raising a family and working the camera got little use. I decided that I wanted to give it a try, and what do you know, it became an addiction. I developed an extreme love for Portraits and Still Lifes when studying Master Photographers such as; Irving Penn, Dan Winters, Arnold Newman, and Albert Watson. Those masters also inspired me to start printing my own work. The feeling of holding a print in my hands is extremely rewarding I am self taught and always find myself learning through Books, videos, and studying the photographers and painters work that I admire. I experiment frequently with different lighting techniques and composition , often using my muses ; my son and daughter. I don't know where my art is going to take me in the future , but for right now I feel I'm on the right track. My biggest hope is to create honesty in all of my work and to establish photos that will last generations
